This hotel project is intended to be one of IHG’s flagship Olympic Hotels in an area close to the 2012 Olympic Games. On a site on the fringes of Canary Wharf, G1 worked closely with Tower Hamlets Planning Department to deliver a bespoke solution to a tight and complex urban island site. The project consists of 2 buildings – a 3 storey lower block and a 16-storey main block accommodating the guestrooms.

This mid-market hotel design introduces a central public precinct running through the central part of the site, splitting the hotel into 2 buildings and providing easy and direct access to the existing Westferry DLR station. The public areas of the hotel open out to this precinct bringing street-life, animation and new business and social activity to this largely forgotten corner of the Borough. Service and guest connections between the 2 buildings is via a series of overhead glass bridges.

The hotel comprises 250 guestrooms, a restaurant, a bar and a cafe, meeting rooms and a large multi-function space.
